The Wells Fargo Championship is one of the most prestigious annual Golf events. This is brought up by the famous Quail Hollow Club in 2017. In this same championship, golf stars like Anthony Kim, Joey Sindelar, and Robert Gomez earned their field debut and first set of golf awards. They made their mothers very proud.
It was in the Wells Fargo Championship that the “The Green Mile” or one of the toughest golf courses in history is being played. The championship was held on May 2-5, 2019 in Charlotte, N.C. This year, a lot of famous golf superstars were spotted on the field. Rickie Fowler and Rory McIlroy were also there to supervise games by amateurs.
Two-time champion McIlroy decided to take this year for a break on the games and enjoyed the field watching amateurs and judging goal sets. Phil Mickelson — golf hall of famer – was also present in the games and is still actively engaging with different courses.
He owned every set and is still victorious at Quail Hollow. Ranking on 14th worldwide is the world-renowned Jason Day. Winning strokes of the game and green mile courses were for Nick Watney and the Rookie Aaron Wise.
This season is undeniably one of the best. With high PGA Tour Card Scores and full-audience stadium, this has been the highest-grossing Wells Championship sponsored by Quail Hollows. Pot Money for this year reached $7.9M. A lot of sponsors went by and half of the winning share was donated to charitable foundations.
The future is bright for Wells Fargo Championship season 2020!
