Fourteen years and 370 tournaments removed from his last victory, Joey Sindelar made it worth the wait Sunday with an improbable rally and a playoff victory over fast-fading Arron Oberholser.

Arron Oberholser wins CRESTORŽ Charity Challenge
For his first-place standing entering the final round of the Wachovia Championship, Arron Oberholser will have a charitable donation of $100,000 made in his name by AstraZeneca.
Oberholser gets another shot at first victory
It was such a bizarre day at Quail Hollow that there was a five-way tie for the lead in the middle of the round, and seven players had a share of the lead at some point. Arron Oberholser, who challenged Woods as the top collegian while at San Jose State but has never won on tour, finished the day with a 4- under 68 and a one-shot lead.

Tiger Woods takes the lead
The biggest difference Friday was his putter. Woods took only 22 putts, and at one point had seven consecutive one-putt greens. It all started on the second hole, when his 50-foot putt from the bottom of the green fell for birdie, the kind of break that hasn't been going his way the last few months.

Course gets Tiger's approval

Golf event pulls in the big money
In 2003, corporate sponsorships and ticket sales helped the Wachovia Championship rake in roughly $9.8 million, making it one of the PGA Tour's most successful events. Tournament officials hope this year's results make it possible to donate another $1 million to charity.
