Wachovia Championship Single Day Tickets On Sale Now
Only 3,000 tickets per day are available for purchase
CHARLOTTE N.C., April 1, 2003 - Single day tickets are on sale now for the Wachovia Championship, the PGA TOUR event that debuts in Charlotte May 5-11, 2003, at Quail Hollow Club. The general public may purchase tickets by calling (800) 945-0777 or by visiting www.wachoviachampionship.com. Only a limited number of single day tickets are available. Please note that tickets will not be available for purchase at the tournament site or during the tournament.
Single day tickets range in price from $10 to $40 per day. Fans purchasing tickets for Tuesday or Wednesday's practice rounds will receive a bonus ticket for Monday's pro-am tournament, where fans will see players in a more relaxed and intimate setting. Tickets for the first two rounds on Thursday and Friday are $30 each and tickets for the final two rounds on Saturday and Sunday are $40 each.
Weekly ticket books are still available and cost $110 each. The books include admission to all seven days of the tournament. With ticket books, the same person does not have to use the ticket each day, allowing family members, friends and business associates to share the cost of the event. Weekly ticket books may be purchased by calling (800) 945-0777 or by visiting www.wachoviachampionship.com. Fans who purchase weekly ticket books this year will also have "first rights" to buy tickets for next year's tournament.
"We have already received an overwhelming response from the sale of our weekly ticket books," Wachovia Championship Tournament Director Kym Hougham said. "Based on the inquiries we've received so far, we're anticipating that these daily tickets will sell out weeks before the tournament."
Proceeds from the 2003 Wachovia Championship will benefit Teach For America, a national education foundation that provides a corps of outstanding recent college graduates of all academic majors who commit to teach for two years in underserved urban and rural public schools.
