New Hospitality Package Added for the Wachovia Championship
VIP treatment offered for small to medium size businesses
CHARLOTTE, N.C. Due to strong demand, a new hospitality package has been added for the Wachovia Championship, the PGA TOUR event that debuts in Charlotte May 5-11 at Quail Hollow Club.
The Event Lawn package offers businesses a unique and cost-effective way to entertain clients and colleagues. With exclusive access to the clubhouse lawn on the course side, guests will enjoy all the action overlooking the 18th green and activities around the clubhouse lawn. Event Lawn badge holders will also have full access to the Champions Club, a large climate-controlled area, with indoor seating and an open-air patio.
Additionally, patrons of the Event Lawn will have a view of a jumbotron television with live tournament coverage. Premium food and beverages will be available for purchase in the Event Lawn area and in the Champions Club. Once tournament play has stopped for the day, Event Lawn patrons will be treated to live music. The cost of the Event Lawn package is $2,500 and includes four badges for tournament play Tuesday through Sunday.
An existing hospitality package, the Champions Club, has been expanded to accommodate more guests. Champions Club patrons will enjoy a comfortable environment located near the ninth green. Patrons will have access to a large climate-controlled area with indoor seating, an open-air patio and televisions with live tournament coverage. A food buffet and beverage items will be available for purchase. The cost of the Champions Club is $1,000 and includes four tickets for Tuesday through Sunday.
Hospitality packages are available by calling (704) 383-1428 or by visiting www.wachoviachampionship.com.
"The support for corporate hospitality has been incredibly strong, but we felt we needed something tailored specifically to the needs of small to mid-cap businesses and other groups," Tournament Director Kym Hougham said. "The Event Lawn and the Champions Club help make a great entertainment venue affordable for everyone."
The Wachovia Championship's $5.6 million purse, one of the largest on the TOUR, guarantees the winner in excess of $1 million and is expected to draw the world's greatest golfers.
Those who purchase hospitality packages this year will also have "first rights" to buy similar packages for next year's tournament.
A portion of the net proceeds from the 2003 Wachovia Championship will benefit Teach For America, a national education foundation that provides a corps of outstanding recent college graduates of all academic majors who commit two years to teach in underserved urban and rural public schools.
