Wachovia Championship Posts Another Sell Out
Tickets have sold out for the third Wachovia Championship May 2-8 at Quail Hollow Club
CHARLOTTE N.C., April 25, 2005 – Tickets have sold out for the third Wachovia Championship May 2-8 at Quail Hollow Club, tournament officials announced at 2 p.m. today.
“Ticket holders will be able to see an extraordinary event on a magnificent golf course. Already we have some of the game’s premier PGA TOUR players coming to Charlotte, including over 30 International players from 12 different countries,” said Kym Hougham, tournament director. “The response from fans throughout this region has been outstanding.”
The Wachovia Championship’s $6 million purse is one of the highest purses on the PGA TOUR, guaranteeing the winner in excess of $1 million. An estimated 200,000 fans are expected over the course of the tournament week.
The Wachovia Championship has already received commitments from past champions David Toms and Joey Sindelar, as well as Davis Love III, Jay Haas, Chris DiMarco, Jim Furyk, Fred Funk, Mike Weir, Stuart Appleby, Peter Lonard, Jesper Parnevik, Sergio Garcia and Tom Lehman.
