Tickets have sold out for the fourth Wachovia Championship

CHARLOTTE N.C., April 7, 2006 – Tickets have sold out for the fourth Wachovia Championship May 1-7 at Quail Hollow Club, tournament officials announced today at 11:00 a.m.

“Regional sports fans continue to be drawn to this extraordinary tournament and magnificent golf course year after year. A lot of fans took advantage of our renewal program and will once again be rewarded when the PGA TOUR’s premier players come to Charlotte,” said Kym Hougham, tournament director. “We look forward to a great event for both first-time tournament visitors and our repeat patrons.”

Currently, 7 of the top 10 players in the world are making plans to join 156 of the PGA TOUR’s finest players. The Wachovia Championship has already received commitments from past champions David Toms, Joey Sindelar and Vijay Singh.  Sergio Garcia, Retief Goosen, Chris DiMarco, Davis Love III, Jim Furyk and Luke Donald are also scheduled to compete.

Players have until Friday, April 28, at 5:00 p.m. EDT to commit. Tournament officials will announce the field for the Wachovia Championship that evening. For a current commitment list, please visit www.wachoviachampionship.com.

The Wachovia Championship has raised $4.2 million for charitable donations in its first three years. Teach For America is the Championship’s primary charity.
