CHARLOTTE N.C., April 25, 2008—The field for the sixth edition of the Wachovia Championship is in place with 15 of the top 20 players in the world committed to next week's PGA TOUR event at Quail Hollow Club.
Players had until 5:00 p.m. today (Friday) to express their intentions to compete in the Wachovia Championship. Players can withdraw at anytime leading up to the competition rounds beginning Thursday.
Here are a few notes regarding this year's field:
- Phil Mickelson, the World's No. 2 ranked player heads a list of seven players in the top ten on the World Golf Rankings that include Steve Stricker (4), Geoff Ogilvy (5), Jim Furyk (6), Vijay Singh (8), Justin Rose (9), Adam Scott (10).
