Where is the Wachovia Championship golf tournament held?

The Wachovia Championship is held at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Where is tournament parking?

Tournament parking will be available at the following locations:

Monday, April 28 through Friday, May 2

  • Uptown Shuttle
  • Paramount's Carowinds (Tournament Authorized Lot) – Parking and Shuttle


Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4

  • Uptown Shuttle
  • Ballantyne Corporate Park (Tournament Authorized Lot) – Parking and Shuttle
  • SouthPark Area (Tournament Authorized Lot – follow event street signage) – Parking and Shuttle

CATS LYNX Blue Line Shuttle
Ticketed patrons for the 2008 Wachovia Championship can utilize the new CATS LYNX Blue Line to catch Tournament shuttles.

  • Tournament shuttles will only be available from the Sharon Road West Light Rail Station.
  • There will be no Tournament parking at the Sharon Road West station.
  • All patrons must present a Tournament ticket and a valid LYNX ticket purchased on the day of service from one of the LYNX stations other than Sharon Road West to access Tournament shuttles. There will be no exceptions.
  • Patrons will exit trains at the station and follow signs to the shuttle loading area. Drop-off will be at the Main Tournament entrance.
  • Shuttles will be available from 5:30am to 9:00pm daily.


Parking and shuttle fees, at authorized tournament lots, are included in the purchase of each ticket.

Note: Uptown parking lots are not tournament authorized. The tournament does not control the pricing or availability of uptown parking. All patrons will be searched for cell phones and other prohibited items.

Who is the primary beneficiary of the Wachovia Championship?

The majority of the proceeds from the Championship will benefit the nationally known, educational foundation TEACH FOR AMERICA, a national corps of outstanding recent college graduates of all academic majors who commit two years to teach in underserved urban and rural public schools.

How much money has been donated to charity by the Wachovia Championship?

In its first five years, the Wachovia Championship has donated over $7.5 million to charity.

What is the FedEx Cup?

The FedEx Cup is a PGA TOUR season-long points competition, sponsored by Federal Express.

Is there a Monday qualifier?

The pre-qualifier and open qualifier for the Wachovia Championship will take place on Thursday, April 24, 2008 and Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Firethorn Country Club in Marvin, North Carolina.

Non-members of the PGA TOUR, Nationwide Tour, or Champions Tour (fully exempt) must pre-qualify on Thursday, April 24.

Is Tiger Woods playing in the tournament?

All PGA TOUR players have until Friday, April 25, 2008, to officially commit. Players make their official commitments through the PGA TOUR, who then notifies the Wachovia Championship tournament office. We will not know until that time which players are on the final commitment list.

How can I purchase tickets for the 2008 event?

Beginning November 12, 2007, patrons may purchase tickets online at www.wachoviachampionship.com or by calling our toll free number at (800) 945-0777.

What is the ticket policy for children?

Children 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult ticket holder (one child per adult).

Where is Will Call located?

Proper photo ID is required to pick up tickets. Will Call will be available at the following locations:

Symphony Park – Central Will Call Location
Located in the parking lot of Symphony Park (the Dick's Sporting Goods parking lot at the intersection of Carnegie Blvd. and Barclay Downs Drive). Open Monday, April 28 through Sunday, May 4 from 6:00am to 6:00pm.

Carowinds/Fiesta Plaza Carolinas – Satellite Will Call Location
Open Monday, April 28 through Friday, May 2 from 6:00am to 6:00pm.

Ballantyne Corporate Park – Satellite Will Call Location
Open Saturday, May 3 through Sunday, May 4 from 6:00am to 6:00pm.

Is a ticket required to attend the Sunrise service on Sunday, May 4th?

Spectators must have a Sunday ticket in order to attend the Sunday Sunrise service.

When I purchase tickets, why does the charge appear on my credit card statement as "Champions for Education"?

Champions for Education is the non-profit host organization that manages and operates the Wachovia Championship.

How can I volunteer for the Wachovia Championship?

If you are interested in volunteering please visit the Volunteers portion of the Web site, which will provide details on the application process.

How can I play in the Pro-Am?

Unfortunately, spots for the Monday and Wednesday Pro-Ams have been filled for the 2008 tournament.

Note: Monday Pro-Am spots are sold individually (sold out for 2008). Wednesday Pro-Am spots are only available through long-term corporate sponsorships (sold out for 2008).

What is the Safe-Tee Kid Program?

All patrons wishing to tag their child with a friendly reminder in case they get separated or lost can do so at the Information Services Tent, located at the main entrance near the bus shuttle. To easily identify the child as a "Safe-Tee Kid," he/she will receive a brightly colored wristband labeled "Wachovia Championship Safe-Tee Kid."

If a child is lost he/she should immediately locate an Event Ambassador dressed in a tournament uniform (tournament shirt with the Championship logo, beige pants/shorts, and an official credential), who will then accompany the child back to the Main Information Services Tent, where the parent and child can be reunited.

What is the severe weather policy for the 2008 Wachovia Championship?

Pertinent weather information will be provided in the Daily Pairings Guide. In the event of thunderstorms, lightning, or other severe weather, "Weather Warning" information will be displayed on the electronic scoreboards around the golf course. When these warnings appear, spectators should take precautions and seek shelter, even before play is suspended. If the siren sounds suspending play, seek shelter immediately. The electronic scoreboards will keep spectators advised of the length of delay in play.

In the event of severe weather and lightning, avoid the following areas:

  • Bleachers
  • Tall or isolated trees or telephone poles
  • Hilltops and other high places
  • Open fields
  • Golf carts
  • Lakes and ponds
  • Metal fences, barricades, etc.

I am disabled; will I have access to and the ability to move about at the tournament?

Handicapped parking will be provided by the tournament and details will be posted on our Web site closer to the event. Dedicated wheelchair-accessible buses will shuttle disabled persons and their guests to the tournament.

On the course, a Special Needs committee will be available to assist disabled patrons. There is also reserved handicapped seating located on the 9th and 18th holes.
